Perform monthly, off-server, full-site back-ups to a shared Dropbox folder. If the host, N&C or your site get hacked, these backups allow us to revert to a pre-hack state, update as needed to make it current, and republish the repaired site as quickly as possible.
WordPress, themes and plugins put out regular updates just like your desktop operating system or smart phone. These updates fix bugs, add features, plug security holes, and keep the code current. This means that down the road, your site software will still be current. If you then want a new look, the site can be re-skinned and you can move forward without restarting from scratch.
